KeyPad is a system keyboard that translates as you type, drafts AI replies from your clipboard, and reads text from photos — all on-device. No account needed. No network. No analytics.
Copy any message, tap the sparkles key, and KeyPad drafts a reply on-device. Pick a tone — Smart, Flirty, or Recommended — add a little context, and insert it with one tap.
Share a photo of a sign, menu, or screenshot to KeyPad and it reads the text on-device, then translates it. Built for travel — still 100% offline.
Real keyboard layouts for QWERTZ and AZERTY, plus Korean (Hangul) and Japanese (Romaji to Hiragana). Long-press any key for accented characters.
A system-style suggestion bar with inline typo correction when you type in English. Tap to revert, tap to swap. Casing preserved.
Add KeyPad under Settings → General → Keyboard. Turn on Full Access so the keyboard can read what you've typed to translate it.
Download the ~28MB language pack once. It lives on your device forever — no re-downloads, no streaming, no roaming charges.
Tap the globe 🌐 to switch to KeyPad anywhere. Type in English, send in Spanish. The translation replaces what you wrote the moment you hit send.
KeyPad has no server. No SDKs. No analytics. No account system. It ships with App Sandbox entitlements that forbid network requests entirely. You can verify it yourself with Charles Proxy on any release build.
No outbound connections. Entitlements forbid it. The keyboard extension has no way to reach the internet.
Use KeyPad without creating an account. No sign-in required, no auth tokens, no mandatory profile.
No Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Segment, no SDKs. We don't measure what you type or how often.
Apple's Translation framework runs language models locally in its own sandbox. No cloud inference.
Every pack is a one-time download. Once installed, they work on the plane, in the mountains, and in airplane mode. Native layouts for QWERTY, QWERTZ, AZERTY, Hangul, and Romaji.
A keyboard that translates, without the cost of giving up your keystrokes.
Download on App Store — FreeThis policy describes what information the KeyPad iOS application ("the App") handles, and — more importantly — what it doesn't. The short version: KeyPad has no backend. It has no network permissions. It has no analytics. It has no account system. Your keystrokes, translations, and history never leave your device.
We wrote this policy so that it's honest and short. If you only read one section, read this one.
The App is developed and published by Roval Apps, an independent software studio. Throughout this policy, "we," "us," and "our" refer to Roval Apps; "you" and "your" refer to the person using the App.
We collect nothing from users of the App itself. There is no server for the App to send data to. The App's entitlements explicitly forbid outbound network requests, and this is enforced by iOS. This is not a promise — it's a technical constraint baked into the build.
The only information generated by the App that you might call "yours" is:
None of the above is transmitted off your device. If you choose to create an optional account, we may collect the email address you provide solely to manage that account. We do not use it for marketing or share it with third parties.
For the avoidance of doubt, the App does not collect, transmit, or store on any remote system:
iOS requires any third-party keyboard that reads typed text to request "Full Access." KeyPad needs Full Access because the translation feature reads what you've typed in order to translate it. We understand this is an elevated permission and take it seriously.
When Full Access is granted, the App only:
The keyboard extension operates inside Apple's sandbox with network entitlements disabled. It is technically incapable of reaching a remote server.
If your device supports it (iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence), the AI Reply feature reads the most recent text on your clipboard when you tap the sparkles key, and passes it to Apple's on-device FoundationModels framework to draft a reply. The clipboard contents and the generated reply never leave your device. We do not see, store, or transmit either.
When you share an image to KeyPad, Apple's on-device Vision framework recognises text in the image locally on your phone. The recognised text is then translated using the same offline Translation framework. The image is not uploaded, copied to our systems, or retained after the share session ends.
The App uses Apple's on-device frameworks for its core features: Translation (offline language translation), Vision (text recognition in photos), and FoundationModels (AI Reply drafting). All three run locally on your device. Apple's handling of any model downloads is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours.
We do not bundle any analytics SDKs, crash reporters, advertising networks, or other third-party libraries that transmit data.
If you purchase a KeyPad Pro upgrade through the App Store, Apple handles the transaction. RevenueCat is used to validate purchase receipts; no personal information beyond an anonymous purchase identifier is shared. We do not receive your payment details.
The App is rated 4+ on the App Store and is safe for use by children. Because we collect no information, there is no special handling required for users under 13 (COPPA) or 16 (GDPR). This applies universally.
Under the GDPR, CCPA, and similar privacy laws, you have rights to access, correct, and delete personal information held about you. Because we don't hold any personal information about you, there is nothing for you to access, correct, or delete on our side.
To remove your preferences or translation history, clear history in the App's Settings screen, or delete the App — both are stored only in KeyPad's own local storage and are erased when the App is removed.
Downloaded language packs are different: iOS stores and manages them at the system level, shared with Apple's own Translate app, so deleting KeyPad does not remove them. To remove a downloaded language, open iOS Settings → Apps → Translate → Downloaded Languages and delete it there.
If we ever change this policy in a way that meaningfully affects how data is handled, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and note the change in the App's release notes on the App Store. Because the App itself is constrained from collecting data, any such change would be visible in an update's App Store description and entitlements.
Questions, corrections, or curiosities about this policy can be sent to romano@rovalapps.com. We aim to respond within three business days.
By downloading, installing, or using KeyPad ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and by the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't install or use the App.
If you obtained the App through Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where these Terms conflict with Apple's EULA, Apple's EULA controls with respect to the App Store transaction.
Subject to these Terms, Roval Apps grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to install and use the App on any Apple-branded device you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
You may not: (a) copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law; (c) rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the App; or (d) remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices.
System requirements. KeyPad requires iOS 18 or later. The AI Reply feature additionally requires iOS 26 and a device that supports Apple Intelligence. Features that depend on Apple's on-device frameworks may be unavailable if those frameworks are removed or modified by Apple in a future iOS release.
The App does not require an account to use. You may optionally create an account for additional features; if you do, we may retain the email address associated with that account to provide account-related services. Any such data is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy. Any reference in these Terms to "your data" also refers to data stored locally on your device and under your control.
You agree to use the App lawfully. Specifically, you agree not to use the App:
The App, including its name, design, icons, and software, is the property of Roval Apps and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. These Terms grant you a license to use the App — not ownership of it.
Apple's Translation framework and any language model files it downloads are the property of Apple Inc., used by the App under the iOS developer license.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that translations produced by the App will be accurate, complete, or appropriate for any particular use.
You acknowledge that machine translation is imperfect and that you are responsible for reviewing translated text before relying on it.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL ROVAL APPS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the App is limited to $10 USD.
KeyPad is free to download from the Apple App Store. An optional KeyPad Pro upgrade is available as an in-app purchase for users who want unlimited use of certain features. All pricing for Pro is shown in the App and may vary by region.
KeyPad Pro may be purchased either as an auto-renewing subscription or as a one-time, non-renewing purchase. Auto-renewing subscriptions continue until you cancel them, and renew at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings. A one-time purchase does not renew and is not billed again. Where an introductory free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited if you buy a subscription before the trial ends.
Refunds are handled entirely by Apple under their standard refund policy. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds directly, and we cannot reverse App Store transactions.
You can end your use of the App at any time by deleting it from your device. These Terms remain in effect for as long as you use the App.
We may terminate or suspend your license to use the App if you materially breach these Terms. Upon termination, the license granted in §02 ends and you must delete the App.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the App will be resolved in the courts located in Vancouver, British Columbia, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, you retain the benefit of any mandatory provisions of the law of your place of residence.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be called out in the App's release notes on the App Store. Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Questions about these Terms can be sent to romano@rovalapps.com.
